Meaning of the Figley Institute Logo
The lotus is the Figley Institute logo. The Figley Institute Founder, Dr. Kathleen Regan Figley, selected it based on a quote from Kahlil Gibran: "The soul unfolds itself like a lotus of countless petals." The colors represent the following: purple = suffering; green = hope/life; silver = wisdom. Thus, the logo speaks to the message of transformation, which may be psychological, spiritual, or both, in the aftermath of trauma.
